Milliken has long been known as an agricultural center, though housing is replacing some farm land. Even so, Milliken maintains the tranquility and beauty that are such vital parts of rural life.
With miles and miles of picturesque, rolling farmland, quaint main streets and "small-town" ways, Milliken provides easy access to I-25 which makes commuting to a city easy.

Higher education options are ample in Northern Colorado, including the University of Northern Colorado, Aims Community College (both in Greeley) and Colorado State University and Rocky Mountain Community College (in Ft. Collins).
There are two parks in Milliken. Both Milliken and neighboring Johnstown are communities which offer a variety of recreational opportunities for it's young residents, such as Little League football and youth league basketball and baseball. Being located near both Fort Collins and Greeley offers residents of Milliken the advantage of choice in health care. Banner Health’s North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley and McKee Medical Center in Loveland and University of Colorado Health’s Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland and Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins are well-respected facilities with some of the best doctors in the region.
Johnstown and Milliken are surrounded by abundant farmland, which provides the area's largest source of income. Hall-Irwin in Milliken is a full-service construction management firm, Uniscope in Johnstown is a producer of specialty agricultural products. However, given the low housing prices, bucolic and friendly setting, many settle here but commute to the larger surrounding communities such as Greeley, Loveland, Fort Collins or Denver for work.
